Terms of Service

Toolbyte is a small, independently run suite of business tools — currently an invoice generator, a QR code studio, and an expense-report builder. Each one has a free plan and an optional Pro upgrade. It's operated by Keenan Pinto ("we", "us").

One account works across every Toolbyte tool. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Give us an email address you actually have access to — it's how we reach you and how you'd recover your account.

Don't use Toolbyte to break the law, to create fraudulent documents (fake invoices, falsified receipts, and the like), to abuse or overload the Service, or to try to access another user's data. We can suspend or close an account that does any of this.

Everything you create with Toolbyte — invoices, customer records, QR codes, receipts, expense reports — belongs to you. We only store and process it so we can provide the Service back to you; we don't claim ownership of it and we don't use it for anything else.

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you create. Toolbyte Invoices and Toolbyte Expenses help you produce documents, but we don't check them for tax, accounting, or legal compliance in your jurisdiction — that's on you or your accountant.

Every Toolbyte tool has a free plan with standing limits — see each tool's pricing section for the current numbers. Toolbyte Pro is one subscription that removes those limits across all three apps: Invoices, QR Studio, and Expenses.

Toolbyte Pro is billed by Stripe, our payment processor, at $9 per month or $90 per year (billed upfront). Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars and include VAT where it applies. Business customers can add a VAT number at checkout.

Cancel anytime from the billing portal, reachable from any Toolbyte app you're signed into. Cancelling stops future renewals; your Pro access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. We don't provide refunds or credits for the unused part of a billing period, except where the law requires it.

Nothing you've already created is deleted when Pro access ends. Your existing businesses, invoices, receipts, reports and QR codes stay exactly as they are — you just go back to the free plan's limits for creating new ones.

QR Studio dynamic codes are the one exception, and we're stating it plainly because people print these on stickers, packaging and signage: a dynamic code you created keeps redirecting to its target forever, whether or not you keep paying. What a lapsed subscription changes is editing — you can't repoint a link or create new dynamic codes, and scan counts are hidden until you resubscribe. Resubscribing restores full editing and your scan history, picking up exactly where it left off.

Toolbyte is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but we don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Back up anything that matters to you.

To the extent the law allows, Toolbyte and its operator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose — which is nothing for a free-plan user. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

You can stop using Toolbyte, and delete your content, at any time. If you have an active Pro subscription, cancel it separately from the billing portal — closing your account doesn't automatically stop billing. You can request full account deletion by emailing toolbyte.app@gmail.com. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

We may update these Terms as Toolbyte changes. If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use Toolbyte after a change means you accept the update.

These Terms don't take away any consumer-protection rights you're entitled to under the mandatory law of the country you live in — where those rights apply, they apply regardless of anything else in these Terms.

If you're a consumer in the EU or Denmark, distance-selling rules give you a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. EU law allows this right to be exempted for digital content delivered immediately on payment, but only once specific conditions around your consent are met at the point of purchase. Our checkout flow doesn't yet collect that consent, so we're not relying on the exemption: the 14-day withdrawal right applies in full to a new Toolbyte Pro subscription. If you're a qualifying EU or Danish consumer, you can withdraw within 14 days of subscribing for a full refund by emailing toolbyte.app@gmail.com.
